Management & Leadership Series

For managers who want to lead with clarity, confidence and impact

What sets great managers apart?

Not authority, not oversight — but self-awareness, a strengths-based approach, and the ability to coach people rather than simply direct them.

Gallup’s research is clear: today’s employees don’t want bosses. They want coaches — people who understand their strengths, create clarity, support growth, and know how to bring out the best in every team member.

If you’re ready to deepen your management skills — not just for today, but for the long run — this 4-part series gives you targeted tools and practices to lead with purpose. Across four sessions, you’ll explore your natural leadership style, strengthen how you support and develop others, and build habits that help you show up as a consistent, impactful leader.

Whether you’re stepping into management for the first time or looking to sharpen your existing skills, this series will help you build confidence that you’re leading effectively. You’ll walk away with communication frameworks, coaching techniques, and practical tools you can implement right away.

You want to be an effective, respected, and supportive leader.

This series gives you a clearer understanding of your management style — and practical tools for stronger 1:1s, thoughtful delegation, giving feedback clearly and confidently, and leading like a coach, not a boss.

“This is a great series! You will learn about your management style through a strengths-based framework while gaining practical management tools in a growth-minded environment. Emily's facilitation style is clear and concise, making space for participants to raise questions, meaningfully connect, and reflect on the material.

— Nikki Nesbary, Senior Nonprofit Program Manager

There is a 'keep it moving’ energy throughout & the strengths-based content is a gold mine for a leader!

This is a great training for new or early managers, or people who need some strong foundations in management practices. Emily runs a tight ship! There's a "keep it moving" energy throughout the class and smart facilitation practices. It was a lovely cohort with different perspectives and each voice was heard. The strengths-based content is a gold mine for a leader!”

How it works:

BEFORE THE SERIES

Discover Your Strengths

You’ll receive a code to take the Gallup CliftonStrengths (aka StrengthsFinder) tool, a globally recognized assessment that helps you build awareness of your natural strengths and talents. You’ll get your personalized report to review and bring to our sessions.

SESSION 1

Clarify Your Management Style

We’ll dig into your natural leadership instincts, how you communicate and make decisions, and the strengths you bring to managing others. We’ll review best practices of high performing managers.

SESSION 2

Conducting Highly Effective 1:1s

Learn how to structure 1:1s that build trust, improve alignment, and increase engagement. We’ll cover how to set expectations, coach through challenges, listen for what your team really needs, and create a cadence that keeps people connected, supported, and focused.

SESSION 3

Delegating with Clarity and Confidence

We’ll break down what effective delegation actually looks like — how to assign work clearly and in a way that will energize your team members. We’ll review how to match tasks to strengths, communicate expectations, set up accountability, and create autonomy without micromanaging.

SESSION 4

Giving Feedback That Lands

We’ll explore how to deliver feedback that is clear, timely, and actionable — without losing trust or connection. You’ll learn scripts and frameworks that help feedback feel supportive rather than stressful, and you’ll practice ways to navigate tough conversations with confidence.

POST-SERIES

Private Coaching Session

After the series, you’ll have a 60-minute private coaching session to troubleshoot and integrate what you’ve learned, work through real team dynamics, and get tailored strategies to support your growth as a manager.

“I truly believe one thing that separates good managers from great ones is that they are not only aware of their own tendencies and work styles, but also understand that each of their team members have unique strengths and approaches to their work. Going through this workshop is a great way to begin to unpack this. Emily is a great facilitator - she is super knowledgeable but also explains concepts in a way that is digestible and actionable. Highly recommend!”
